Course Overview

The Rotator Cuff Arthroscopy Simulation Course is a focused, simulation-based training program designed exclusively to develop technical proficiency in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. The course emphasizes stepwise skill acquisition using high-fidelity virtual reality and task-based simulators to replicate real-world operative scenarios.

Participants progress from tear visualization and portal optimization to suture passage, anchor placement, and construct completion for common rotator cuff tear patterns. Structured repetition, objective performance metrics, and expert feedback form the foundation of the learning experience, allowing participants to refine precision, efficiency, and tissue handling without patient risk. This course is intended to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and operative execution, preparing trainees for safer, more confident participation in live surgical settings.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand rotator cuff tear patterns and their implications for repair strategy
  • Identify optimal arthroscopic portals specific to rotator cuff repair
  • Practice controlled suture passage through tendon tissue in simulated environments
  • Learn systematic approaches to anchor placement and fixation constructs
  • Develop intra-operative sequencing skills for efficient rotator cuff repair
Learning Methodology
  • High-fidelity rotator cuff–specific VR and dry lab simulation training
  • Stepwise, task-based procedural walkthroughs with progressive difficulty
  • Deliberate repetition with real-time visual and haptic feedback
  • Objective skill assessment using time, precision, and tissue-handling metrics
  • Faculty-guided video review and structured performance debriefing
