Gynecology & Obstetrics Ultrasound Simulation Training Program

Course Image
Course Overview

The Gynecology & Obstetrics Ultrasound Simulation Training Program is designed to develop safe, structured, and reproducible ultrasound scanning skills for women’s health imaging. The course focuses on pelvic and early obstetric ultrasound techniques using a high-fidelity simulation platform that allows learners to practice probe handling, orientation, and image optimization without patient dependency.

Participants train in both transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound approaches, learning to translate probe movements into accurate anatomical visualization. Emphasis is placed on understanding pelvic anatomy, first-trimester obstetric assessment, and systematic scanning workflows rather than isolated image capture.

Through repeated simulation and guided instruction, learners build scanning confidence, anatomical clarity, and diagnostic consistency- preparing them for supervised clinical practice while minimizing early-stage scanning errors.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand ultrasound principles applicable to gynecology and early obstetrics
  • Develop correct transabdominal and transvaginal probe handling techniques
  • Identify normal female pelvic anatomy using ultrasound simulation
  • Perform systematic first-trimester obstetric scanning
  • Optimize ultrasound images using machine controls and settings
  • Correlate probe position with real-time anatomical visualization
  • Follow standardized scanning protocols for OBGYN ultrasound examinations
Learning Methodology
  • High-fidelity OBGYN ultrasound simulator–based training
  • Faculty-guided hands-on scanning sessions
  • Stepwise skill development (basic handling → anatomy → scanning protocols)
  • Real-time probe position tracking with anatomy visualization
  • Repetitive practice with immediate visual and verbal feedback
  • Performance-based skill progression
Learning Outcomes
  • Perform complete basic gynecology ultrasound scans in a simulated environment
  • Conduct first-trimester obstetric ultrasound examinations with structured workflow
  • Maintain consistent probe orientation and anatomical awareness during scanning
