Course Overview

This Gynecologic Laparoscopy Simulation Program is designed to provide structured, progressive training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The curriculum integrates fundamental skills, procedural simulation, and advanced operative techniques using high-fidelity simulation platforms.

Participants progress from basic laparoscopic orientation and diagnostic procedures to advanced hysterectomy, adhesiolysis, and retroperitoneal dissection. Emphasis is placed on anatomical understanding, safe tissue handling, hemostasis, and complication management. The program enables surgeons to develop technical proficiency, procedural confidence, and sound intraoperative judgment in a controlled, risk-free environment, supporting a safe transition from simulation to clinical practice.

Learning Objectives
  • To develop core laparoscopic motor skills and anatomical orientation
  • To introduce structured approaches to common gynecologic laparoscopic procedures
  • To enhance precision in tissue handling, dissection, and hemostasis techniques
  • To build awareness of intraoperative safety principles and decision-making
  • To familiarize participants with advanced procedural workflows through simulation
Learning Methodology
  • Hands-on training using high-fidelity laparoscopic simulators
  • Guided-to-unguided skill progression for independent learning
  • Procedure-based simulation with faculty supervision
  • Case-based discussion and performance feedback
  • Competency-oriented assessment and skill reinforcement
Learning Outcomes
  • Demonstrate controlled camera navigation and effective bimanual coordination
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic gynecologic procedures in a simulated setting
  • Apply appropriate techniques for bleeding control and complication avoidance
  • Execute level-appropriate procedures with improved efficiency and confidence
  • Integrate anatomical knowledge into procedural planning and execution
