Course Overview

The GSI Hip & Knee Replacement Cadaveric Workshop is a Master Course in arthroplasty designed for practising orthopaedic surgeons seeking advanced hands-on training in joint replacement surgery. The program combines evidence-based learning with cadaveric dissection, providing a realistic operative environment to refine surgical techniques, understand implant selection and alignment strategies, and strengthen decision-making for both primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty.

Participants gain the confidence, precision, and up-to-date knowledge required to improve patient outcomes, optimise perioperative care, and stay current with modern arthroplasty practice. The workshop also introduces newer surgical technologies and practical approaches that support safer and more efficient joint replacement procedures.

At the Global Surgical Institute's Cadaveric Workshop, expert faculty guide participants through hip and knee arthroplasty on cadaveric specimens, integrating focused lectures, case-based discussions, and extensive supervised hands-on dissection. With limited participant intake and personalised mentorship, the program is designed to translate cadaveric experience into confident, safe, and effective operative practice.

Module 1: Endoscopic Anatomy and Surgical Landmarks of the Nose and Anterior Skull Base
Module 2: Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery — Uncinectomy, Ethmoidectomy, and Sphenoidotomy
Module 3: Frontal Sinusotomy and Modified Endoscopic Medial Maxillectomy (MMA)
Module 4: Trans-Orbital and Trans-Cranial Approaches to Skull Base Reconstruction
Module 5: Optic Nerve Decompression and Orbital Decompression
Module 6: Carotid Artery Identification and Tracing
Module 7: Management of Sinonasal and Skull Base Tumours, and Thyroid Eye Disease
